After completing Chinnayya’s report, SIT to intensify probe into Bangle Gudde, illegal burials, missing cases

Bengaluru

After completing the final report on Chinyya’s episode, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) will intensify its probe into skulls found in Bangle Gudde, illegal burials and missing cases. The SIT had already commenced investigations into these aspects along with Chinnayya’s complaint.

This news website had earlier reported on these investigations. With the SIT now placing these details on record before the High Court, the previous reports by blrpost.com have been proven accurate.

The sources in the Home Department said first the SIT will file a ‘complaint report’ before the magistrate soon and later focus on other investigations. The SIT in the Karnataka High Court (HC) said it is investigating other aspects.

On Wednesday (November 12, 2025) HC vacated stay on First Information Report (FIR) 39/2025 registered in Dharmasthala. The HC however instructed the SIT not to harass the activists. On October 30, after hearing the petition seeking quashing of FIR moved by activist Girish Mattannavar, HC granted stay.

The State government in a bid to vacate the stay had filed an over 30 page objection affidavit. In the affidavit State on record said “It is clear from the government order that the mandate of the SIT is not limited to the complaint made by ‘V’ a.k.a Chinnaiya (earlier, the complainant; now an accused). The ambit of the SIT includes investigations into illegal burials happening over a period of time per se. Many aspects of the case which are currently under investigation, are not at all connected to the claims of illegal burials by the complainant. The recent discoveries of skulls, and other human remains at the Bangle Gudda area by the SIT, are an example of the same.”

It was also submitted that in the light of the nature of the accusations and allegations made in the complaint, the prayer for quashing the case has a chilling effect on these independent aspects of this case.

The source in the Home Department further said with the Chinnayya aspect soon coming to an end, the SIT can start focusing more only on solving the Bangle Gudde mystery, missing cases in Dharmasthala as directed by women commission and illegal burials independently discovered by the SIT.

It should be noted that during investigations into panchayat records and UDRs, the SIT has found that 38 bodies were buried in panchayat limits without registering UDRs. These burials are considered as illegal burials. The SIT has also sent seven skulls and several bones found at Bangle Gudde hillock to FSL and are awaiting for reports, source informed.

  1. One serious question is will SIT start questioning the temple authorities and the family? If this has to be transparent investigation, then these individuals should also be interrogated.

  2. How is Chinnayya’s case coming to an end? Chinnayya was working under dharmasthala temple administration. He has named people who’re ordering him to burry the bodies. Chinnayya’s main job was illegal burials! SIT has unearthed 38 illegal burials too! Who did burry them???? Has SIT investigated those Chinnayya named and found the link to someone at the top?! Has SIT probed U turn made by Chinnayya? Errr That U turn was made by Chinnyya when he was under SIT custody itself! Who will probe it?!
What investigation was done by SIT for Chinnayya’s first statements(under bnss 183) before the judge?? You cant simply trash it! SiT will face the heat when it files report on Chinnayya’s complaint without investigation! Very fascinating history of criminal cases in Dharmasthala that , Complainant himself or some innocent poor man becomes the accused in every case (Padmalatha, Vedavalli, Soujanya etc) when people and victims family point fingers at powerful family members! What mockery of justice is this! Hope this will end with these cases!

  3. Seems SIT wants to keep all door open !! anything can happen; In Such cases they shouldn’t move cautious, they should move with more aggressiveness.
Seems this approach would make sure they are only looking at evidence at each process and recording them and planning case!!
not sure what ‘complaint report’ before the magistrate soon and later focus on other investigations.
For filling up what gaps missed in legal procedures earlier highlighted by BALAN?
Or is it a chargesheet without A1,A2 .. ? Even there was a case at HC related to WP/27715/2025 – SRI. PURANDARA GOWDA Case where date is not given at!! do they need to submit some report here as well to announce date?
Does BLRPOST got some insights in this WP/27715/2025 ?
When I doubt SIT keeping all doors open it seems they are keeping all doors open to let someone exit or let some one enter 😀 😀
