BDA floats ₹3,348 Crore tender for Bengaluru Business Corridor Package-1
Bengaluru
In a major push toward addressing Bengaluru’s growing infrastructure demands, the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has officially invited tenders for the construction of a stretch of the Bengaluru Business Corridor (BBC), part of the long-awaited Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) project. The tender, issued on March 30, 2026, pertains to Package-1 of the corridor, covering a significant segment from Tumkur Road to Bellary Road.
According to the Invitation for Tender (IFT) notice, the project has been pegged at an estimated cost of ₹3,348.05 crore, with an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) requirement of ₹33.50 crore. The project will be executed under the Design, Build, Operate, and Transfer (DBOT) model, which also includes a 10-year operation and maintenance (O&M) component, signaling a long-term infrastructure commitment by the authority.

The proposed stretch begins at Kilometer 0.000 on Tumkur Road and extends up to Kilometer 19.80 on Bellary Road, forming a crucial link in the larger peripheral connectivity plan aimed at decongesting the city’s core areas. The corridor is expected to serve as a high-capacity transit route, facilitating smoother vehicular movement and reducing travel time across key northern and northwestern corridors of Bengaluru.
The tender process will be conducted through the Government of Karnataka’s e-procurement platform (https://kppp.karnataka.gov.in), ensuring transparency and streamlined participation for interested bidders. As per the notified schedule, the tender will be officially published on April 6, 2026. Prospective bidders can submit queries until April 15, 2026, by 4:00 PM.
The last date for submission of bids has been fixed as May 4, 2026, also by 4:00 PM. The technical bids will be opened on May 6, 2026, at 4:30 PM, followed by the opening of financial bids on May 11, 2026, at the same time. The entire project is expected to be completed within a period of 36 months from the commencement date, indicating an ambitious but structured execution timeline.
Officials have emphasized that the tender processing fee will be as per the norms prescribed on the Karnataka Public Procurement Portal, and all procedural details, including eligibility criteria and bid conditions, are accessible online.
However, the project comes with a critical caveat. The BDA has noted that portions of the land required for the project are currently subject to various writ petitions pending before the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka. As a result, the implementation of the project will be contingent upon the final outcome of these legal proceedings. This introduces an element of uncertainty, which could potentially impact timelines depending on judicial developments.
The BDA has urged interested contractors and infrastructure firms to closely review all tender documents and conditions before participating. For further assistance, bidders can contact the Infrastructure Division of BDA during office hours. Additionally, a dedicated helpline and WhatsApp number (9483166622) has been provided for queries, along with updates via the official social media handle @BDAOfficialGok.
The Bengaluru Business Corridor project has long been seen as a transformative initiative aimed at easing traffic congestion and promoting balanced urban expansion. With rapid urbanisation and increasing vehicular density placing immense pressure on the city’s existing road network, the PRR project is expected to act as a vital alternative route for both intra-city and inter-city traffic.
Despite its potential, the project has faced multiple delays over the years, primarily due to land acquisition challenges, funding constraints, and legal hurdles. The latest tender notification indicates a renewed push by authorities to move the project forward, reflecting growing urgency to address Bengaluru’s infrastructure bottlenecks.
