BESCOM’s new Whitefield sub-division office inaugurated, aims to improve consumer services
Bengaluru
Energy Minister K J George on Friday inaugurated the newly constructed BESCOM Whitefield Division and E-4 Sub-division Office at Gandhipura on Immadihalli Main Road, marking a major upgrade for one of the city’s fastest-growing power-demand zones.
The offices, which were earlier operating out of a rented facility, have now been brought under one roof in a dedicated building designed to streamline public services. “Whitefield is one of the major areas of Bengaluru, and the division caters to more than 3.88 lakh consumers. Operating from a purpose-built office will significantly improve service delivery and consumer access,” the Minister said after dedicating the facility.
He also thanked Mahadevapura MLA Manjula Aravind Limbavali for facilitating the land allotment for the project. “This new office is not just a building but an important step in strengthening BESCOM’s citizen services in a high-density urban zone,” he said.
Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Gaurav Gupta, BESCOM Managing Director N. Shivashankara, and Technical Director H J Ramesh, attended the inaugural event.
Key features of the new facility
The newly completed structure is a three-storey building, including a ground floor, spread across 13,687 sq. ft. The project was built at an estimated cost of ₹4.25 crore.
Officials said the upgraded infrastructure will help accommodate consumer service centres, technical sections, and administrative units, allowing the division to respond faster to complaints, outages, and billing issues in the Whitefield region.
