Mega Convention Centre, St. Regis Hotel Coming to Bengaluru Airport City

BIAL to Finally Tap Vacant Land with Convention Centre, Arts Theatre & Luxury Hotel

Bengaluru, July 30, 2025 — A world-class 8,000-seat Convention and Exhibition Centre, a luxury hotel under the iconic St. Regis and Marriott brands, and a state-of-the-art performing arts theatre will soon anchor a major new development near Kempegowda International Airport.

This landmark project is coming up on a portion of the 1,000-acre land allotted by the Karnataka government nearly two decades ago to help generate non-aeronautical revenue.

The additional land, on top of what was needed for the international airport, was granted with the intent of easing the financial burden on air passengers, who continue to pay steep user development charges.

Set within the upcoming Bengaluru Airport City precinct, the integrated development will also include Grade A office spaces and curated global dining and retail experiences.

It is being developed through a strategic partnership between Bengaluru Airport City Limited (BACL), a subsidiary of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), and real estate major Prestige Group.

The project is envisioned as a vibrant urban hub blending business, hospitality, and culture in one seamless, transit-oriented ecosystem.

The Convention and Exhibition Centre (CEC) is designed as a multi-format venue capable of hosting high-impact global summits, innovation forums, and large-scale cultural festivals—putting Bengaluru firmly on the global MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) map.

“This partnership with Prestige Group underscores our commitment to building world-class infrastructure that not only drives regional development but also enhances India’s position in the global events and innovation economy,” said Rao Munukutla, Executive Director & CEO, BACL.

Strategically located with direct access to Kempegowda International Airport, the development will offer excellent multimodal connectivity through NH-44, SH-104, the upcoming KIAB West Metro Station, and the suburban rail network.

The precinct is part of a broader Airport City vision that includes sustainable infrastructure, integrated amenities, and high livability standards.

“Bengaluru has been central to our journey for over three decades,” said Irfan Razack, Chairman and Managing Director, Prestige Group. “This iconic development—featuring the St. Regis Hotel, a world-class Marriott marquee, convention centre, and a performing arts venue—reflects our deep commitment to the city’s future. It is our way of giving back to Namma Bengaluru.”
