Blrpost.com Impact: GBA issues public advisory on e-khata grievance redressal
Bengaluru
In a clear fallout of the blrpost.com report that exposed large-scale rejection of e-Khata applications and alleged harassment by zonal revenue officials, the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) on Wednesday issued a public advisory detailing its grievance redressal mechanism and asserting that a First-In-First-Out (FIFO) system is already being followed in processing applications.
The media release, issued by Special Commissioner (Revenue) Munish Moudgil, comes days after blrpost.com reported that nearly 25,000 e-Khata applications had been allegedly rejected over the last three months, impacting even High Court judges, former Chief Secretary P. Ravi Kumar and ace sportsperson Prakash Padukone.
In the advisory, the GBA urged citizens not to visit any GBA or city corporation offices and instead apply for e-Khata strictly through the online system. Emphasising that the process is fully digital and faceless, the authority asked applicants to raise grievances through the dedicated e-Khata helpline rather than approaching officials in person.
According to the release, a dedicated e-Khata call centre (94806 83695) has been made operational. Complaints received through the helpline are escalated to the concerned Assistant Revenue Officers (AROs) via ‘Sahaya’, the GBA’s internal grievance tracking system. Moudgil stated that he personally reviews these cases every morning with all 64 AROs to ensure time-bound disposal.
The GBA also claimed that a FIFO mechanism has already been implemented to ensure applications are processed strictly in the order of receipt—an assertion made amid allegations that applications were being selectively delayed or rejected to extract bribes.
Citizens have been advised to track the status of their e-Khata applications online at:

The authority has also directed applicants to refer to FAQs available at:

The advisory gains significance as it follows internal action initiated by the GBA against certain revenue officials for wrongful rejection of applications, including recommendations for suspension. Senior officials had earlier indicated that strict punitive action would be taken against officers found harassing citizens.
With the GBA now issuing public assurances after the blrpost.com report, the spotlight remains firmly on whether the authority’s claims translate into real relief for thousands of affected property owners.
