A 16-km commute in 35 minutes: Yellow Line Opens for Public from Aug 11

The long awaited 16-km Yellow line is all set to open for public from August 11. The project is expected to benefit employees working in Hosur road especially Electronic City and Bommasandra.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has fixed the fare between RV Road and Delta Electronics Bommasandra at ₹60 as it plans to begin operations sharp at 6:30 am.
The 16-station stretch will take around 35 minutes to cover in each direction, with trains halting at all stations. On weekdays, services will start at 6:30 am from both terminals, with the last train leaving Bommasandra at 10:42 pm and RV Road at 11:55 pm.
Trains will operate every 25 minutes from 6:30 am at Bommasandra and 7:10 am at RV Road, with frequency reducing after 10:00 pm.
On Sundays, services will start at 7:00 am, maintaining the same intervals. Tokens, NCMC cards, BMRCL smart cards, and QR tickets will all be valid for travel.
From August 11, iPhone users can also download the official “Namma Metro” app to purchase QR tickets and recharge smart cards. BMRCL has said train frequency will be increased as more train sets are introduced.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi accompanied by CM Siddaramaiah flagged off the first train of Yellow line on Sunday, much to the delight of Bengaluru residents.
