Brutal murder in Koppal bakery over property dispute; Seven arrested

Koppal

A 35-year-old man was hacked to death inside a bakery in Tavaragera town, Koppal district, Karnataka, on Sunday in a violent attack believed to be rooted in a property dispute. The victim, identified as Channappa Hussainappa Narinal, was attacked with machetes by a group of men, according to police sources cited by ANI.

The chilling incident was caught on a nearby CCTV camera, showing Narinal desperately trying to escape inside the bakery while multiple assailants pursued him. Some attackers repeatedly struck him with machetes, while another used a wooden log to hit his head. The victim sustained multiple cut wounds and died at the scene. The attackers fled immediately after the assault.

Following a complaint by the deceased’s family, a case has been registered against ten individuals. Koppal Superintendent of Police L.R. Arasiddi confirmed that seven suspects, including four directly involved in the attack, have been arrested. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining three who allegedly instigated the attack. Preliminary investigation suggests that longstanding enmity over property led to the brutal killing.

The incident occurred in the Kushagi taluk area, and police have intensified search operations with traps set up to track down the absconding suspects. Further investigation is underway.
