Dharmasthala Crimes: Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi gets bail in B L Santosh case
Udupi
The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court in Udupi granted bail to activist Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi, who was arrested earlier this week for allegedly making derogatory and provocative remarks against BJP national general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh.
Thimarodi was taken into custody from his residence after Udupi Rural BJP unit president Rajeev Kulal lodged a complaint at the Brahmavar police station. The complaint accused him of making inflammatory statements targeting Santhosh.
While granting bail, judge Nagesh N A cautioned Thimarodi against repeating such remarks and warned that similar conduct would not be tolerated.
Addressing reporters outside the court, Thimarodi said the legal battle would continue. “Our struggle will go on, and I appreciate the lawyers who supported me. A fair inquiry will be good. We believe in a courteous and rightful struggle, not in being misled,” he said, refusing to comment further on individuals allegedly linked to the case.
The arrest followed the formal registration of a case at Brahmavar police station earlier this week.
