Dharmasthala Crimes: Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi arrested

Sowjanya activist, Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi was arrested by Brahmavara police on Thursday morning from his residence.

The police registered an FIR after Thimarodi spoke on a YouTube channel against BJP National General Secretary (organisation), B L Santosh. The complaint against Thimarodi was filed by a BJP leader.

Large number of cops landed at Thimarodi’s residence and high drama unfolded. The police and supporters of Thimarodi including advocates spoke to police for 50 minutes. he sources say that he was booked under 
Sections 352 and 353 (2) (statements conducive to public mischief) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)

He boarded his private car along with another activist identified as Girish Mattannanavar after he was detained first. The advocate representing Thimarodi argued that the complaint was frivolous in the local court after he was produced.
