Dharmasthala Crimes: SIT questions Bheema till 3 am on Saturday

Belthangady

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Dharmasthala mass burial case questioned witness-complainant Bheema until 3 am on Saturday. It appears the SIT is moving towards a major breakthrough in the case.

Sources in the Home Ministry told blrpost.com that Bheema was interrogated throughout the day on Friday, with questioning continuing until the early hours of Saturday. The SIT posed every possible question related to the case in an effort to unearth the truth. However, officials did not reveal further details in the interest of the investigation.

It should be noted that the State government formed the SIT on July 19 after Bheema filed a complaint at the Dharmasthala police station. The police had registered an FIR on July 4. The complainant, a former sanitation worker, alleged that he was forced to bury bodies and claimed that many of the deceased were victims of abuse and sexual violence.

So far, the SIT’s exhumation operations have uncovered the skeletal remains of two individuals. The digging has been temporarily halted but is likely to resume. The remains have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).
