Dharmasthala: No new chargesheet will be filed on Chinnayya’s complaint

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Dharmasthala cases will not be filing any chargesheet in connection to C N Chinnayya’s complaint. The rumors that the SIT is planning to submit a fresh chargesheet is false.
A source in the Home Department talking to blrpost.com said the SIT has already filed a complaint report on November 20, 2025. The report was filed under Section 215 of the Bharatiya Nagarika Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
The source said misinformation about the chargesheet emerged after a press meet by Home Minister G Parameshwara which was also attended by SIT chief, Director General of Police (DGP), Pronab Mohanty.
During the press brief, a scribe wrongly termed the complaint report as a chargesheet. As a response to this Mohanty said “where is the chargesheet? SIT has not filed the chargesheet.” This was then misinterpreted as a new chargesheet will be filed.
The source further said in perjury cases the investigation agencies have to submit compliant reports. The nomenclature of this document is complaint report and not chargesheet. The court becomes a complainant in perjury and taking cognisense of the report is left to the discretion of the court. The report has named Chinnayya, Girish Mattannavar, Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi, Jayanth T, Vittal Gowda and Sujatha Bhat.
The source said the SIT has concluded the investigation on Chinnayya, a complainant turned accused and no longer SIT is probing this. The SIT is now investigating the skulls discovered at Bangle Gudde hillock, suspicious Unnatural Death Reports and missing cases. This does not come under the ambit of Chinnayya’s complaint.
SiT had decided not to probe alleged powerful Dharmasthala Temple Administration heads, managers, supervisors and workers who Chinnayya accused in his 183 bnss statements. No probe on earth will leave out the accused but probe the complainants! This had been the biggest ‘shadyantra’ ever seen in this country where the accused were never investigated by any agencies! The SIT has unofficially declared big criminals innocent by not probing them!
SIT is setting bad precedence and bringing bad name to Police Investigation in this country.
