Five Bengaluru corporations to unveil their first annual budgets on March 27–28
Bengaluru, March 25:
The five city corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority will present their annual budget estimates over two days on March 27 and 28 at designated venues across the city.
The budget presentations are being conducted under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru City Development Minister D. K. Shivakumar. The process will be overseen by administrator Maheshwar Rao, in the presence of the respective commissioners of the five corporations.
According to the official release, the presentations will begin on March 27 with the East and Central City Corporations. The East City Corporation will present its draft budget at the MLR Convention Centre in Whitefield at 9.30 am, followed by the Central City Corporation’s session at the Sir Puttanna Chetty Town Hall at 12.30 pm.
On March 28, the remaining three corporations — North, West and South — will present their draft estimates. The North City Corporation’s session is scheduled at Ambedkar Bhavan in Yelahanka New Town at 9.30 am. The West City Corporation will present its budget at the BWSSB Suvarna Bhavan in Malleswaram at 12.30 pm, while the South City Corporation’s presentation will be held at the District Panchayat Hall near Banashankari Temple at 2.30 pm.
The budgets are expected to outline the financial priorities, revenue projections and expenditure plans of the newly formed city corporations under the Greater Bengaluru governance framework.
