How Wonderla is turning fun into a ₹109 crore fortune

Bengaluru

India’s favorite playground, Wonderla Holidays Ltd, has turned thrilling water slides and gravity-defying rides into serious cash—reporting a ₹109.27 crore net profit for Financial Year 2025 (FY25) on the back of ₹482.78 crore in total revenue.

At a time when much of India is seeking affordable, high-quality entertainment, Wonderla has managed to hit the sweet spot. Its flagship park in Bengaluru pulled in ₹167.47 crore, with Hyderabad and Kochi close behind at ₹135.06 crore and ₹121.16 crore, respectively. Even its newest outpost in Bhubaneswar, still making its name, brought in ₹20.05 crore. Add to that the Bengaluru resort and some extra income, and it’s clear: Wonderla’s business model is no rollercoaster—it’s a steady climb.

Behind the scenes, it’s a carefully managed operation. While ₹311.38 crore went toward running the parks—staff, maintenance, energy costs—the company still turned out a healthy operating profit of ₹171.40 crore. Smart cost control helped too, with finance costs at just ₹0.73 crore and a relatively low depreciation hit of ₹57.12 crore.

But numbers only tell part of the story. Wonderla’s success rides on something deeper: nostalgia, joy, and the promise of escape. For many Indian families, a day at Wonderla isn’t just an outing—it’s a memory in the making. The company has leaned into this emotional connection, investing in smoother ticketing, cleaner parks, and high-safety international-grade rides.

There’s also a clever expansion strategy at play. By moving into Tier-2 cities like Bhubaneswar, Wonderla is tapping into India’s rising middle class—families eager for quality recreation without traveling across states. The result? A business that’s not only profitable but well-loved.

As Wonderla looks to FY26, it carries more than profits—it carries the trust of millions who line up for a day of thrill and laughter. And in doing so, it reminds us: making money can still mean making memories
