Nandini Ghee to be exported for the first time to the USA, Australia and Saudi Arabia

In a significant boost to Karnataka’s dairy sector, the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) announced that its iconic Nandini Ghee will be exported for the first time to the United States, Australia and Saudi Arabia.

KMF currently exports Nandini products—including UHT milk, ghee, cheese, dairy whitener, butter, ice cream, flavoured milk, sweets and savouries—to Dubai, Qatar, Brunei, Maldives, Singapore and other countries with strong Indian and Kannadiga communities. The federation has been expanding its international presence strategically.

As part of this effort, KMF launched its first international franchise outlet, ‘Nandini Cafe Moo,’ in Dubai on September 9, 2023, strengthening the brand’s visibility abroad. More recently, KMF’s Managing Director attended the Navika World Kannada Convention 2025 in Lakeland, Florida, where newly designed packs of Nandini ghee and sweets were unveiled. It was also announced that Nandini products will now be available across the United States, with exports of popular items like Nandini peda, Mysore pak, barfi and savouries set to begin in September 2025.

With fresh demand—8 metric tonnes from Saudi Arabia, 5 metric tonnes from the USA and 1 metric tonne from Australia—KMF dispatched its first export consignment of Nandini ghee. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Animal Husbandry Minister K. Venkatesh and Women & Child Development Minister Laxmi R. Hebbalkar flagged off the vehicles symbolically.

KMF Managing Director B Shivaswamy said the milestone reflects the growing global acceptance of Nandini products and marks “a proud moment for Karnataka as Nandini strengthens its presence in new international markets.”
