No LPG shortage in Bengaluru, says DC; Helpline number announced for complaints against gas distributors

Bengaluru, March 12:

Amid concerns over gas supply disruptions triggered by the ongoing conflict in West Asia, the Bengaluru Urban district administration on Wednesday clarified that there is no shortage of domestic LPG cylinders in the district and urged the public not to fall for rumours circulating on social media.

In a press release, Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesha G. said that adequate stocks of domestic cooking gas cylinders are available across the district, and residents need not panic about availability.

The clarification comes at a time when industries and commercial establishments in Karnataka have reported supply disruptions of piped natural gas (PNG), prompting speculation about a possible shortage of LPG cylinders as well.

However, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised that domestic LPG supply remains stable and that the district has sufficient stock to meet household demand.

He also urged citizens not to believe or spread misinformation regarding LPG availability. Residents facing any issues related to domestic LPG supply can contact the district helpline at 9611404384 for assistance, the release said.
