ORR–PRR Link via Mahadevapura, Doddanekkundi to Be Fast-Tracked; BECC Sets March 10 Deadline

Bengaluru:

The proposed 24-metre-wide road connecting the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to the Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) via Mahadevapura, Doddanekkundi, Pattandur Agrahara and Nagonahalli has been put on the fast track, with the Bengaluru East City Corporation directing officials to complete land acquisition formalities and issue a notification by March 10.

At a review meeting chaired by Additional Commissioner Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar, officials from multiple departments were instructed to expedite Phase-1 implementation of the long-pending corridor proposed under the Revised Master Plan (RMP)–2015. The strategic link is expected to improve east Bengaluru’s connectivity by directly linking ORR with PRR through key residential and IT hubs.

Sudhakar directed Town Planning officials of the BDA and GBA/BECC to immediately submit approved development plan copies and road development (RD) records concerning land earmarked for road widening near Bagmane Tech Park and the Brigade area to the Land Acquisition and TDR Section.

Executive Engineers were told to take possession of properties already relinquished for road widening as per the sanctioned plans. Survey Department officials were instructed to inspect ‘kharab’ land near Goshala and file a report.

The corporation will also coordinate with the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) to complete acquisition of land required near the special development zone developed by KIADB close to Sitarampalya Metro Station.

The Revenue Department has been asked to furnish ownership documents of the remaining required lands to the TDR Section without delay.

Notification by March 10

The Land Acquisition Section has been directed to complete all procedures and issue the land acquisition notification by March 10, signalling a renewed push to operationalise the crucial ORR–PRR connector.

The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner (Revenue) Prajna Ammembala, Chief Engineer Lokesh, Executive Engineers of the BDA, and officials from the Engineering, Town Planning, Land Acquisition & TDR, and Revenue Departments.
