Bengaluru
The ward-wise draft electoral rolls for city Corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) jurisdiction have been released on Monday. A total of 88,91,411 voters are listed from across 369 wards.
State Election Commissioner G S Sangreshi said the publication of the draft rolls marks a key step in preparations for the upcoming civic polls under the newly constituted GBA framework.
Addressing a joint press conference at the GBA head office, Sangreshi urged citizens to carefully verify the draft electoral rolls and ensure that their names are included. “All eligible citizens who have completed 18 years of age must check whether their names appear in the draft rolls. If names are missing or details are incorrect, applications should be submitted immediately in the prescribed forms,” he said.
The draft electoral rolls have been prepared with October 1, 2025, as the qualifying date. According to the data released, the rolls include 45,69,193 male voters, 43,20,583 female voters and 1,635 voters registered under the ‘other’ category, taking the total electorate to 88,91,411.
The rolls pertain to elections under the GBA jurisdiction, which comprises five city Corporations — Bengaluru Central, Bengaluru North, Bengaluru South, Bengaluru East and Bengaluru West. Together, these corporations account for 369 wards, reflecting the expanded and restructured urban governance system for the Bengaluru metropolitan region.
As part of the revision process, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door verification from January 20 to February 3, 2026. During this period, citizens can submit claims and objections related to inclusion of names, deletion of ineligible entries, correction of errors in personal details, or change of address within or across wards.
Sangreshi said the Election Commission has laid out a clear timeline to ensure transparency and accuracy in the electoral rolls. Claims and objections received during the verification period will be examined and disposed of between February 4 and February 18, 2026. The final electoral rolls will be published on March 16, 2026, after incorporating all eligible changes.
The Election Commission also shared ward-level voter distribution details. Ward No. 23 of the Bengaluru West city Corporation has the highest number of voters at 49,530, while Ward No. 16 of the Bengaluru East city Corporation has the lowest voter strength, with 10,926 voters. To facilitate polling across all wards, a total of 8,044 polling stations will be set up across the five city Corporations.
To improve public access and transparency, the ward-wise draft electoral rolls have been uploaded in PDF format on the official GBA website. Citizens can search for their names and verify details online. In addition, wide publicity has been arranged regarding the electoral roll revision schedule, and copies of the draft rolls are being distributed to recognised political parties.
For voter assistance, city corporation-wise helpline numbers have been activated. Separate helplines have been provided for Bengaluru Central, North, South, East and West city Corporations to address voter queries related to enrolment, corrections and objections.
Applications for changes in the electoral rolls must be submitted as per the Greater Bengaluru Administration (Voter Registration) Rules, 2025. The prescribed forms include Form-4 for inclusion of name, Form-5 for objection to inclusion, Form-6 for correction of details, Form-7 for change of address and Form-8 for deletion of name. Applications, along with necessary supporting documents, can be submitted to the Electoral Registration Officer, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer or the designated Booth Level Officer.
Senior officials, including the GBA Special Commissioner (Elections) Ramachandran, city Corporation Commissioners Rajendra Cholan, Pommala Sunil Kumar, Ramesh D S and Rajendra K V, Special Officer (Elections) Selvamani, along with Additional Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners (Elections), tahsildars and other officials, were present during the release of the draft electoral rolls.
The State Election Commission reiterated that active public participation in the verification process is crucial to ensure error-free electoral rolls ahead of the civic polls
