How to access Sanchari Cauvery water within BWSSB limits in Bengaluru

Bengaluru

In a significant move to ensure the availability of clean and affordable drinking water, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has launched the ‘Sanchari Cauvery’ initiative. This program aims to provide Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)-certified Cauvery water to residents across Bengaluru through a technologically advanced tanker delivery system.

What is sanchari cauvery?

Launched on May 9, 2025, ‘Sanchari Cauvery’—meaning “Mobile Cauvery”—is India’s first tech-enabled water tanker project. It allows residents to book water tankers online, ensuring timely delivery of safe drinking water at subsidized rates. The initiative is designed to reduce dependence on private water tankers, which often charge exorbitant rates and may supply water from unverified sources .
