Tenders for Tunnel road will be called in 4-5 days: Dy CM Shivakumar
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Friday said the state government will be calling tenders for the first phase of the tunnel road in the next 4 or 5 days. He said the first phase of the project — covering a stretch between Central Silk Board and Hebbal — will cost Rs 17,000 crore.
The second phase, he said, will be called Rs 23,000 crore.
Shivakumar said while speaking to the reporters in Vidhana Soudha.
“We have taken the initiative to construct a twin tunnel road from Hebbal Junction to Silk Board, about 40 km long and 23 km long from Mysore Road to K R Puram,” he said.
He also said the government plans to build 130 km of flyovers and double-deckers along the new metro lines. “7 km of double-deckers have already been constructed and a project to construct 37 km of double-deckers has been undertaken. The tender process for this will also be finalized soon. Our project also includes the construction of a 300 km long road next to the Rajakaluves. Solving the traffic problem of Bengaluru is our priority,” he said.
