Truth behind C J Roy’s death will be revealed: D K Shivakumar

Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister D K Shivakumar on Friday assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted into the death of businessman C J Roy and that the truth behind the incident would be placed before the public.

Speaking to mediapersons during the Kanakotsava celebrations in Kanakapura, Shivakumar responded to questions regarding Roy’s alleged suicide, saying the government would not shy away from ordering a high-level probe if required.

“There are reports that when officials were questioning him, Roy asked for five minutes’ time and then took this extreme step. Information has also emerged that a team from Kerala had come for questioning, and that reports have been sought from Delhi as well,” the Dy.CM said.

He added that the state government was closely monitoring developments and would ensure a comprehensive inquiry into all aspects of the case. “Our government will take up a high-level investigation into this matter. Roy was a good businessman, and such an incident should not have happened,” Shivakumar remarked.

The Dy.CM’s statement comes amid growing speculation and political attention surrounding the circumstances leading to the death of the Bengaluru-based entrepreneur. The case has triggered questions about the nature of the official inquiries he was facing and the sequence of events on the day of the incident.
