What are the Covid 19 guidelines for schools in Karnataka?

Bengaluru

In response to a slight uptick in Covid-19 cases, the Karnataka government has issued revised safety guidelines for both government and private schools. Following a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on May 26, the state directed educational institutions to prioritise early detection and isolation of symptomatic individuals.

Students showing symptoms like fever, cough, or cold must stay home and return only after full recovery. Schools are required to monitor children daily and inform parents if any symptoms arise during school hours. The same applies to teachers and staff, who are advised not to attend if unwell. Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour, including hand hygiene and mask usage where necessary, must be enforced strictly. The state has reported 114 new cases in the past 24 hours, with over 360 cases recorded since January 2025. A 62-year-old man in Mysuru succumbed to Covid-related complications on May 25.
