In a major crackdown on cross-border cyber fraud, the Karnataka Cyber Command Unit busted a fraudulent software firm operating out of Whitefield in Bengaluru that had been impersonating Microsoft Technical Support to cheat U S citizens.

The operation, led by the Special Cyber Cell and Whitefield Cyber Crime Police, resulted in the arrest of 21 employees.

Acting on credible intelligence, police registered a case under Sections 66 and 66C of the IT Act, 2000, and Section 318(4) of the BNS. Following a court-issued search warrant, the two-day raid was carried out on November 14 and 15 under the supervision of SP Savitha Srinivas, IPS.

The targeted company, Musk Communications, operated from the 6th floor of the Delta Building at Sigma Soft Tech Park on Whitefield Main Road. The 4,500 sq ft office, set up in August 2025, allegedly functioned as a centre for large-scale tech-support scams targeting foreign nationals.

The raid team included ACP C. Balakrishna, PI K. Suresh of Whitefield Cyber Crime Police Station, PI Eramma of North East CCPS, Detective PI Abhijith of CCD, and technical personnel from the Cyber Command. The operation was conducted under the guidance of Pronab Mohanty, IPS, Director General of Police, Cyber Command Unit.

Several computers, mobile phones, digital devices, and other electronic evidence used in the scam were seized during the night-long mahajar, which concluded on November 15 at 11 AM.

The arrested individuals will be produced before the jurisdictional court. Police are also pursuing absconding accused and analysing the seized digital evidence.
