Woman killed in multi-vehicle collision at Mayo Hall Junction
A 36-year-old woman lost her life in a serial road accident at the busy Mayo Hall Junction on Tuesday. The victim, identified as Anjali, was riding pillion on a two-wheeler when the incident occurred.
According to police reports, a goods vehicle rammed into a stationary car at the junction, causing the car to lurch forward and crash into the two-wheeler carrying Anjali and Vijay Kumar. The impact flung both riders onto the road, resulting in severe head injuries.
Anjali succumbed to her injuries on the spot, while Vijay Kumar was rushed to a private hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment.
The driver of the goods vehicle fled the scene immediately after the accident. The Ashok Nagar traffic police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to trace the absconding driver.
