Karnataka cabinet meeting venue shifted from Nandi Hills to Vidhana Soudha
Bengaluru
In a sudden change of venue, the Karnataka government has shifted the cabinet meeting venue from Nandi Hills to Vidhan Soudha. The meeting is scheduled on June 19. However, the government has not offered any explanation for the change of place.
The Chikkaballapura district had decked up the Nandi Hills for the grand event and ordered closure of the space for the tourists from June 16 to June 20. The notification of the administration had stated “all access points to the hill station would be closed during the cabinet meeting. Tourism-related activities—including trekking, sunrise visits, and vehicle access—will be suspended entirely during this window.” The meeting will now be held at secretariat building on the same day.
The Congress government had previously held cabinet meetings outside Bengaluru – one in Kalaburagi and another in Male Mahadeshwara Hills. These meetings are held in view of looking beyond Bengaluru in terms of development. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is likely to inform the media about reasons for the sudden change of venue.
