Dharmasthala Crimes: Udupi SP Hariram’s wife studied and worked in SDM college
Dharmasthala
Udupi SP Hariram Shankar’s wife studied and worked for a few years at Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College, Dharmasthala, blrpost.com has found. It should be noted that, on Shankar’s direction, Udupi district police detained a Sowjanya activist from his residence near Ujire.
Shankar’s wife, Shruthi Jain (who changed her name to Shruthi Shankar after marriage), joined SDM College in 2012 to pursue a Master’s in Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ). After completing her post-graduation, she worked in multiple media houses before returning to SDM for employment.
After marriage, Shruthi left her job at SDM and now works for a private media company. During her stint at SDM, she was actively involved in media-related activities and enjoyed certain privileges.

Recently, she claimed that her husband, Shankar, played a crucial role in ending Naxalism in Karnataka. However, official sources in the Internal Security Division (ISD) said her claims were false, adding that the officers responsible for ending Naxalism were different. One of the key IPS officers who played a pivotal role is currently part of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Dharmasthala mass burial case.
It should also be noted that about five days ago, Shruthi interviewed Udupi District-in-Charge Minister, Laxmi Hebbalkar.
Meanwhile, a Sowjanya activist said Thimarodi was summoned by the Brahmavara police after a BJP leader filed a complaint against him for remarks made about BJP National General Secretary (Organisation), B. L. Santosh. Police will be questioning Thimarodi at the station.
