Chinnayya locked phone with pattern, hides about other phones

Sources in the Home Ministry revealed to blrpost.com that accused Chinnayya had locked his Android phone with a pattern lock and was freely communicating with others. Previously a witness-complainant in the Dharmasthala mass burial case, Chinnayya has now been accused of perjury and forgery of evidence.
On Tuesday, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) searched the house of Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi and seized Chinnayya’s phone along with other belongings. The SIT also seized phones belonging to Thimarodi’s family members and a hard disk containing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage. The search at his house continued from morning until late evening. The SIT also searched Thimarodi’s brother’s residence in Ujire.
Chinnayya had been staying in a separate room at Thimarodi’s house during and before the exhumation. The SIT had been escorting him from Thimarodi’s residence to the digging site. Advocates had kept him there after informing the SIT, and sources said it was no secret. Now that he is an accused, the police have seized his phone.
Independent investigation by this website found that Chinnayya had been using two additional phones, which were not disclosed to the SIT. In total, he reportedly used about three SIM cards. The SIM card in the phone seized by the SIT was not registered in his name.
Sources further stated that during his stay, he exclusively used this smartphone, which was protected by a pattern lock, preventing others from accessing it. He also deleted his call logs after conversations. A source added that Chinnayya moved around the house freely and was provided non-vegetarian food, which was brought from outside since Thimarodi’s family does not cook meat at home. He was reportedly healthy and showed no signs of assault during his stay.
As the SIT is probing a possible conspiracy angle, police also seized two phones from Thimarodi’s family members. Sources said these would be returned soon. A source close to Thimarodi said, “There is no fear whatsoever about the phones being seized. No one forced or coached Chinnayya to make claims. His wife was regularly in contact with him and knew everything.”
Another source said CCTV footage showed Chinnayya moving freely around the house, with no evidence of confinement. When the media or guests visited, he would sit inside, but would open the door when someone knocked. The source said there was nothing to hide.
It is quite sad that the probe is moving to save Dharmasthala allegations. Start by inquiring with the temple administration, not Bheema—Bheema can come later. But this is unfair, as it seems to be trying to punish the victims and protect the perpetrators. People see through these things, and the truth will prevail regardless of cover-up dramas.
Yes I understand what you are saying. But when you accuse someone powerful it is normal to investigate that the person who is complaining is coming with clean hands. But what I understand is, there are two parallel investigations going on,based on blpost earlier article : “If his role is confirmed, the SIT is expected to change the direction of the investigation, while also probing what compelled him to commit perjury. Perjury refers to lying under oath”. So one on Bheema and other one the killings.
The probe on the killings are not getting highlighted as the powerful people through media want to kill the SIT.

I totally agree with above comments. The accused of Dharmasthala family are not even questioned once. Nor the panchayat members who agreed to have known about burial but now sudden silence. No previous cops who were in Dharmasthala post or Beltangady station questioned. Why only the social activists are being drilled. Why locals are not taken into confidance by SIT who knows much of information and could be of help. Not sure why only one angle is been looked since beginning.
Loosing hope seeing the statements of minister saying 90 percent cases are closed and all.
