Who’s running your corporation? Here’s a complete list of officers and engineers
With the reorganisation of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the state government has formally created five independent city corporations to administer different zones of the metropolis. Each of these civic bodies will handle local governance, infrastructure, and service delivery within its boundaries, while being overseen by the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) for metropolitan-level coordination.
The five corporations are:
- Bengaluru West City Corporation – Covering areas along Tumkur Road, Rajajinagar, Basaveshwaranagar, and parts of Mysuru Road, this zone will focus on managing a mix of old residential layouts, industrial zones, and fast-growing suburbs.
- Bengaluru South City Corporation – Encompassing Jayanagar, Banashankari, JP Nagar, Kanakapura Road, and stretches up to Sarjapur Road, this corporation will administer some of the city’s largest residential zones alongside newer IT corridors.
- Bengaluru North City Corporation – Spanning Yelahanka, Hebbal, Vidyaranyapura, and Bagalur Road, this zone covers fast-developing suburban areas and key road links towards the airport.
- Bengaluru East City Corporation – Managing Whitefield, KR Puram, Bellandur, and Sarjapur Road belts, this corporation takes charge of the city’s major IT hub and rapidly urbanising peripheries.
- Bengaluru Central City Corporation – Responsible for the core city areas including Shivajinagar, Shantinagar, Basavanagudi, and parts of MG Road, it will focus on maintaining the historic and commercial heart of Bengaluru.
Each of the five newly constituted city corporations of Bengaluru will be headed by a Commissioner, who will be the overall in-charge of civic administration within their jurisdiction. These Commissioners will be supported by a team of Additional Commissioners responsible for specific domains such as administration, revenue, health, solid waste management, and infrastructure.

On top of the five corporations, the state government has constituted Greater Bengaluru Authority which will play the supervisory role. The authority will be headed by the chief commissioner. He or she will be assisted by four IAS officers

The state government has distributed 19 KAS officers across the five corporations, primarily as Assistant Commissioners and Zonal Joint Commissioners

Each corporation will have two chief engineers who will directly report to the commissioner. Here’s the list of chief engineers

The Chief Engineers will be assisted by Superintendent Engineers:
