Namma Metro services extended till 2 am for IPL match in Bengaluru; 44 stations to offer parking
Bengaluru, March 25:
In a move aimed at easing post-match travel and reducing congestion in the Central Business District (CBD), the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced extended metro services for the Indian Premier League (IPL) match scheduled on March 28.
According to the official media release, metro services will run up to 2 am in the early hours of March 29, with last trains departing from terminal stations well past the usual closing time. This extension is expected to benefit thousands of cricket spectators travelling to and from the stadium.
The last trains will depart from Whitefield (Kadugodi) at 12.30 am, Challaghatta at 12.45 am, Silk Institute and Madavara at 12.45 am, Bommasandra at 1 am, and R.V. Road at 2 am. From Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic), trains towards all four directions will leave at 1.30 am.
To further streamline commuter movement, IPL match tickets will double as metro passes, carrying QR codes for two-way travel. Spectators entering via Cubbon Road are advised to use Cubbon Park station, while those accessing via Link Road should use Mahatma Gandhi Road station.

BMRCL has also introduced additional parking facilities across 44 metro stations at a flat rate of ₹30 for two-wheelers and ₹60 for cars, valid until closure of services. The move is intended to encourage park-and-ride usage and ease traffic congestion near the stadium.
Officials added that crowd management measures will be in place, including possible regulation or temporary closure of station entry points if required for passenger safety
