Bengaluru investor falls victim to WhatsApp stock trading scam, loses ₹41.7 lakh

A tech-savvy investor from Bengaluru has fallen victim to an elaborate online trading scam, losing ₹41.7 lakh to fraudsters posing as representatives of a Mumbai-based investment firm.
According to the FIR, the complainant, an active stock market trader, received a promotional message related to stock trading on May 25. Upon checking, it appeared linked to a Mumbai-based company called Avesta Fund Management. The complainant was contacted via mobile number 8971965043 and added to a WhatsApp group allegedly run by Aishwarya Vyas (9581084684) and Farooq Pandole (78247 58902).
The group frequently posted investment plans, and later shared an app link “gi911100/” claiming that investments made through it would double in value. Trusting the offer, the complainant transferred a total of ₹41,70,000 from their Karnataka Bank accounts (5282500100485801 and 528000100009001) to multiple bank accounts provided by the scammers.

Police have launched an investigation to trace the suspects, freeze the accounts, and recover the funds.
