Dharmasthala: SIT wants to know where did panchayat buried bodies, grills many
Belthangady
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing unnatural death reports (UDRs) and missing cases has been grilling former and incumbent panchayat functionaries. The SIT wants to know where workers buried the bodies on the instructions of the Dharmasthala village panchayat. At the same time, the SIT is continuing its probe into the mass burial case.
Several individuals, including Dharmasthala village panchayat vice-president Srinivas Rao and former president Keshav Gowda, claimed during the exhumation operation that the panchayat had buried bodies from UDR cases. Gowda, in an interview with a YouTube channel, had even claimed that at the 13 spots identified by C.N. Chinnayya bodies were buried on the panchayat’s instructions. Interestingly, the SIT found only one buried body at the 6th spot. The crucial question now is: where are the bodies the panchayat claimed to have buried?
The SIT has been questioning several panchayat members, including Rao and Gowda, to trace the missing bodies. Panchayat burial records reportedly contain multiple discrepancies—none of the documents mention burial locations, which investigators find highly suspicious. Equally puzzling is the absence of Chinnayya’s name in these records, despite panchayat members in media interviews alleging that he was the one who buried the bodies.
Notably, Rao and Gowda, who were earlier vocal in their media interactions, have now slipped into silence after SIT questioning. Can the panchayat now prove that Chinnayya has not buried bodies and he was not a grave digger? The sources in the SIT talking to blrpost.com said neither panchayat nor Chinnaya can now claim that he has not buried bodies because SIT has found evidence to show that he was indeed a grave digger. This trick will not work with the SIT sleuths.
The SIT maintains that the primary question remains unanswered: where did the panchayat bury the bodies? Several members have already been interrogated, and many more will face questioning, with the possibility of repeated summons until investigators get clear answers. The SIT is determined to get to the bottom of the case, leaving no room for diversion or deviation from the investigation.

I hear some youtubers claiming that 2 SIT officers have been removed post a complaint from eye witness. Could you confirm on this.
Now ends the matter no more
Misleading S I T has now caught hold of the right string.
What a fearless and factual based journalism that blrpost.com is rendering to the society; truly it will inspires generation.
I have been closely following this case for a long time, and the past two months alone have been nothing short of a rollercoaster . this case have been nothing short of a rollercoaster — filled with twists and turns that could rival the script of a thriller. Not too long ago, when Chinnayya gave his statement in court contradicting his earlier claims, Many including media believed the case had effectively ended in their favor, with reports of a special pooja conducted to commemorate their supposed escape from justice.
But the reality is far from over. Though Chinnayya claimed that the burials he carried out were legal, the crucial point is that such a claim must withstand scientific scrutiny before the court. The judiciary will not accept mere statements — only hard evidence. A new rumor suggests that Chinnayya’s name does not even appear in the Gram Panchayat’s official records of those permitted to carry out burials.
If true, this discrepancy points in one of two directions: either Chinnayya has once again failed to tell the complete truth, or the Panchayat’s records themselves are inconsistent. In both cases, the result is the same — the noose is tightening around the culprits, and what once seemed like closure may in fact be the beginning of a deeper unraveling.
How SIT will confirm PANCHAYAT PEOPLE?
If they tell or show burried place WILL SIT EXUMATE ? & CONFIRM? I THINK ANSWER IS DOUBTFUL!!!!
I hope SIT is given full freedom and time, to get to the bottom of all the UDR bodies, why did they become UDR, what efforts if any were made to identify and react out to the families of deceased. It is shocking that ID cards, clothes, walking stick etc were available with the bodies, and police or panchayat made no effort to trace the relatives. That could only be because the perpetrators didn’t want the relatives found, and didn’t want anyone to know these people are dead. Many have been asking the question, how is it possible no complaints or no one came looking for dead people, thereby insinuating that people are not dead, it’s just a conspiracy. But by tracing the relatives of the deceased after 10-12 years of them going missing, now finally a recognisable patter is evident as to why the relatives were not traced.
“What happened to the writ petition filed by Sundaragowda and Purandaragowda?”
SIT is the only hope to exhume the ‘buried’ truth .Neither the Govt nor some sycophant mainstream media
