Dharmasthala Crimes: NHRC lands in Belthangady, holds talk with Bheema
Dharmasthala
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has landed in the temple town and held talks with witness complainant Bheema and his advocates. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has given time to NHRC to discuss the complaint. The NHRC is in SIT camp at Belthangady.
The sources in the Home Ministry said the members of the NHRC are asking several questions about the complaint Bheema filed in Dharmasthala police station. The NHRC has also asked questions about Padmalatha, Vedavalli and other death cases. NHRC has also asked questions about Youtuber Sameer.
Bheema and advocates have informed the NHRC that “we are not aware of Padmalatha, Vedavalli and Sameer as the complainant has no links to them.” Bheema has simply reiterated what he has written in the complaint and given a statement under 164 in the court.”
It may be recalled that the State government formed the SIT on July 19 after a former sanitation worker of the Dharmasthala Temple Administration filed a police complaint on July 3, alleging he had been forced to bury hundreds of bodies. The SIT’s exhumation operations are ongoing.
