Real estate developer Sattva Group has issued a clarification after Bengaluru’s Avalahalli Police arrested its Group Vice President, Ashwin Sancheti, in an alleged land fraud case involving a 10-acre parcel in Bandapura, situated in the city’s outskirts.
The company said the allegations against Sancheti and the group are “contrary to the existing factual and legal record.” Sattva Group, the press note, stated follows all legal requirements and adhered to established processes in its business.
Sancheti and 13 others have been booked under several provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, for allegedly forging documents to claim ownership of land in Survey Nos. 20, 21 and 44/1.
The case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by Venkappa K, who holds power of attorney for original landowner R. Radha. Police say the accused allegedly created fake GPA documents to transfer the property without her knowledge.
