A child was found dead in Whitefield after being allegedly kidnapped by a neighbor, police said on Wednesday. Both the victim’s family and the accused are migrants from West Bengal, working as laborers in the Nallurihalli area.

The case was first reported at Whitefield Police Station on Tuesday afternoon. Following the FIR, police launched an intensive search operation. Around midnight, the girl’s body was recovered from Temple Road, Nallurihalli, and shifted to Vydehi Hospital, where it is awaiting postmortem examination.

Initial reports indicate that the child was strangled, with plastic ropes found around her neck. Police say there were no other visible injuries, suggesting death by asphyxiation.

Investigating officers are actively tracing the accused, who is expected to be apprehended shortly. Authorities have assured that the case is being given top priority.
