In a major security breach, Karnataka MLC Kishor Kumar Puttur lied to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and secured entry to his wife to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The wife identified as Priti Dasu Bhandari greeted Modi during his event at Udupi on November 28.
According to a senior IPS officer who coordinates between the union government and state government over internal security issues, this is a major security breach. Besides this amounts to forgery and impersonation, the officer stated.
MLC Kumar while providing information about his wife (Priti Dasu Bhandari) gave in writing that his spouse is District Vice President, Mahila Morcha, BJP. However, according to Kumar’s affidavit submitted in 2024 during MLC polls, she is Vice President of G M Amusement and Leisure Park. She has movable assets worth ₹ 46.85 lakh. Kumar hails from Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district. Bhandari holds no positions in the BJP and is just an ordinary member of the party

Bhandari on the day of the event was seen greeting Modi personally while receiving at the airport. The photo also suggests that she instructed someone to click pictures when she was with the PM. The PMO seems to be unaware about this alleged fraud committed by Kishor and his wife. The PM arrived here to attend an event at Sri Krishna Mutt in Udupi district.
Satish Kumpala, Dakshina Kannada BJP President talking to blrpost.com said “we have learnt that the designation of Bhandari was false and she is not the Vice President of Mahila Morcha. We are now at the district level discussing what action can be taken against the husband and wife duo.”
The sources in the Internal Security Division (ISD) said this is a major security breach and they have received a report about the same. The report will be sent to the appropriate authorities in the union government.
