Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner, Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to restrict traffic on half of the Hennur–Bagalur Road to expedite the ongoing white-topping work. The project covers a five-kilometre stretch in East Bengaluru, with over 1.6 km already completed.

To accelerate the work, traffic will be partially restricted between Poornaprajna School and Gubbi Cross, allowing two-way movement on the remaining half. The Commissioner instructed that the 1.2 km stretch be completed within 25 days, followed by a phase-wise rollout over the next sections.

Rao also conducted late-night inspections between 11:30 pm and 2:45 am across project sites, including the Outer Ring Road, JC Road, and Hosakerehalli flyover, reviewing progress with engineers and civic officials. The inspection was held on Tuesday.

During the inspection, he directed that Home Guards be deployed to prevent roadside parking and manage congestion near the construction zones. Contractors have been told to work round-the-clock to meet deadlines and ensure all potholes and debris are cleared.

At Outer Ring Road (Bhadra Layout), ongoing asphalting under the High-Density Corridor Project was inspected, with instructions to maintain drainage efficiency and ensure quality surfacing.

The Hosakerehalli flyover has been fully completed, with only minor finishing and lane marking work pending. On JC Road, white-topping between Minerva Circle and Town Hall is nearing completion, with just 250 metres remaining.

Senior officials including North Zone Commissioner Pomala Sunil Kumar, DCP Jayaprakash, and Chief Engineer Dr. Raghavendra Prasad accompanied the Chief Commissioner during the inspection.
