JCB clearing encroachment in Bengaluru South Corporation LImits
Encroachment worth ₹10 crore cleared in Uttarahalli
Bengaluru
In a major encroachment clearance drive, the Bengaluru South City Corporation demolished illegal constructions valued at around ₹10 crore in Uttarahalli on Wednesday.
According to Commissioner K N Ramesh, the operation was carried out in Arehalli village under the Uttarahalli sub-division, following directives from the Karnataka Lokayukta. Citizens had filed a complaint with the Lokayukta alleging that a shed had been illegally built on public land along the 2nd and 3rd Main Roads in Survey Nos. 2, 6/2, and 4, encroaching roughly 6,000 square feet of road area.
Acting on the Lokayukta’s instructions, civic officials conducted the demolition and reclaimed the encroached land for public use. The clearance has restored the full width of the road, easing movement for residents and commuters in the locality.
The Commissioner said that legal action will be initiated against the encroachers involved in the unauthorised construction.
Executive and assistant engineers from the corporation were present during the operation.
