The Karnataka government has announced the construction of a ₹200 crore Ambedkar Theme Park and Constitutional Museum in Bengaluru. The theme park will feature a towering 200-foot statue of Dr. Ambedkar, which will be one of the central attractions.

This significant project, which will be located at the Bangalore University campus in Jnana Bharathi, aims to honor Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution and Bharat Ratna awardee, while also educating future generations about his contributions to Indian society and the creation of the Constitution.

In addition to the statue, the park will include a museum dedicated to  Ambedkar’s life, works, and the historical significance of the Indian Constitution. The museum will serve as an educational hub, displaying Ambedkar’s writings, achievements, and his crucial role in drafting the Constitution. It will be an important space for people to learn about the values of equality, justice, and social reform that Ambedkar promoted throughout his life.

Another key feature of the park will be a grand library that will serve as a repository of works related to Ambedkar’s life and thoughts. This library will be a valuable resource for scholars, students, and anyone interested in learning more about  Ambedkar’s contributions to Indian society. The park will also feature Buddhist stupas, sculptures, and other artistic representations of Ambedkar’s legacy, creating an atmosphere that reflects his vision for a just and equal society.

The theme park will also include practical and cultural amenities, such as a conference hall and a mini-theater, where various events, seminars, and cultural programs can be held. The park will have well-maintained gardens and musical fountains, creating an inviting and serene environment for visitors. These facilities will make the park not only a place of historical significance but also a popular cultural and recreational destination.

The Karnataka government has already earmarked ₹200 crore for this project, with the funding allocated for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. A 25-acre plot near the Bangalore-Mysore Railway track has been identified for the construction of the park. This site is seen as ideal due to its proximity to important educational institutions and its accessibility to the public. The project is expected to be completed within the next few years, providing a lasting tribute to  Ambedkar and his contributions to India’s democracy and social reform.
