School bus rams into eatery after crashing into truck, two-wheeler; driver arrested
A school bus belonging to New Oxford Public School caused a multi-vehicle accident on Lakshmipura Road in Bangalore North taluk on Thursday morning, injuring several schoolchildren.
The bus, reportedly speeding, first collided with a truck and a two-wheeler before crashing into a roadside eatery, coming to a halt. The children onboard sustained minor injuries and were quickly taken to a nearby hospital by their parents.
Madanayakanahalli police, who rushed to the scene, confirmed that reckless driving led to the accident. The bus driver, identified as Narayana (36), has been arrested and a case has been registered against him.
This incident has raised concerns among residents, as similar cases involving rash driving by school bus drivers have been reported in recent weeks. Authorities are now under pressure to enforce stricter safety norms for school transportation.
