BBMP Chief Commissioner directs deployment of additional vehicles to tackle waste in Yelahanka

Bengaluru

In a bid to address mounting waste management issues in Yelahanka zone, BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao on Friday instructed officials to deploy additional vehicles to strengthen garbage collection operations.

Speaking at the “Mukhyāyuktara Nade Valayada Kade” (Commissioner’s Walk Towards the Zone) programme held at the Mini Vidhana Soudha in Yelahanka, Rao said 50 auto tippers and 7 compactors would be added to the existing fleet for better waste handling in the zone.

Veterinary hospital to come up in Doddabettahalli

Rao also stated that land has been earmarked in Doddabettahalli for a veterinary hospital. He instructed officials to fast-track related infrastructure work and commence services at the earliest.

Monthly meetings with RWAs

To address local civic grievances more efficiently, the Chief Commissioner directed BBMP engineers to hold monthly meetings with resident welfare associations (RWAs). He stressed the need for consistent cleanliness drives and rapid resolution of civic issues.

Yelahanka railway underpass work to be speeded up

The underpass construction near Yelahanka Railway Station has been delayed due to land acquisition issues. Rao directed officials to expedite the acquisition process and ensure timely completion of the project.
