BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to expedite the Ejipura flyover construction and complete the project by March 2026. During an inspection visit today to the segment casting yard at Sakalavara village on Bannerghatta Road, Rao reviewed the ongoing segment casting work for the flyover and issued key instructions.
The Ejipura main road flyover, spanning 2.38 km, is progressing rapidly. Of the total 762 segments required for the structure, 437 segments have already been cast and installed. The remaining 325 segments are scheduled to be completed at the rate of 45 per month. Rao stressed the need to accelerate the casting process and complete it by the end of this year.
He further instructed contractors and officials to take all necessary measures to finish the entire flyover work by March 2026.
Land acquisition was also a topic of discussion, particularly at two points near St. John’s Hospital and Hostel, where the flyover alignment requires land. Rao confirmed that meetings with concerned parties have resolved these issues, and work on the ramps will begin shortly.
Chief Engineer Dr. Raghavendra Prasad stated that all detailed designs have been finalised and work is being planned and executed to ensure swift completion. Segment erection is taking place between 11 PM and 5 AM to minimise traffic disruption. Despite heavy traffic in the area, the work is progressing.
The pedestrian walkway work is nearly complete. The road beneath the flyover has been asphalted, and work on shoulder drains and medians is also underway. Executive Engineer Chandrashekar and other key officials were present during the site visit.
