Bengaluru Central City Corporation to conduct massive cleaning drive

The Bengaluru Central City Corporation has announced a large-scale cleaning initiative on Saturday, November 15, aimed at enhancing the city’s sanitation and hygiene. The drive will begin at 5:30 a.m. across all wards, focusing on major roads, high-traffic areas, and densely populated streets.
Commissioner Rajendra Cholan, overseeing the operation, stated that officials and staff from the Engineering, Solid Waste Management, Health, Horticulture, and Forestry departments will actively participate. The program will be coordinated by executive engineers and deputy chief managers, with necessary equipment and support from the traffic police.
The cleaning drive will cover a total of 14.7 kilometers across six key divisions of the city:
- Shantinagar Division: From 12th Main Road Junction to 100 Feet Road – 1.0 km
- C.V. Raman Nagar Division: From 80 Feet Road Traffic Signal to 6th Main Road Junction – 2.1 km
- Shivajinagar Division: From Indian Express to Shivajinagar Bus Stand, extending via Cantonment Circle to Cunningham Road and Miller Road – 3.0 km
- Gandhinagar Division: From Freedom Park in Wards 94, 95, 109 to K.G. Road, Gandhinagar and Upparpet Police Station – 3.0 km
- Chickpete Division: From Lalbagh West Gate in Ward 143 to South End Circle via R.V. Road – 1.0 km; from Ashoka Pillar in Ward 144 to Murumaru Circle via T. Mariyappa Road – 1.1 km
- Chamarajpet Division: From BGS Flyover on Mysore Road to Gopalan Mall in Wards 136, 140, 141 – 3.5 km
The Corporation emphasised that city cleanliness is a top priority and urged citizens to cooperate with the staff during the extensive drive.
