Bengaluru hotels to hold protest over disruption in LPG supply
Bengaluru, March 9:
Hotels across Bengaluru will hold a protest on Monday evening against the alleged disruption in LPG cylinder supply to eateries and restaurants in the city.
In a press release, the Bangalore Hotels Association said hotels, restaurants, bakeries and bars—considered part of essential services—are facing difficulties due to interruptions in LPG supply. The association alleged that vehicles transporting cylinders to hotels are being stopped during inspections, leading to delays and shortages.
According to the association, uninterrupted LPG supply is crucial for the functioning of the hospitality sector, which serves thousands of customers daily. The disruption has caused operational challenges for hotel owners and staff.
The association said the hotel industry has been cooperating with government departments and complying with regulations, but the recent interruption in supply has created uncertainty for businesses.
To draw the government’s attention to the issue, hotels across the state will hold a protest meeting at 7.30 pm on Monday, urging authorities to ensure smooth movement of LPG supply vehicles and restore regular supply.
