A five-year-old tigress that had reportedly attacked several domestic animals after straying out of the forest has been captured along with her three cubs near Kallahalli in Gundlupet taluk, Forest, Ecology, and Environment Minister Eshwar B Khandre informed the press on Monday.

According to the minister, forest officials confirmed that the tigress had entered residential areas and targeted livestock before launching the rescue operation. The tigress and her cubs were successfully trapped and are now under veterinary observation.

Khandre said that forest teams are continuing operations to monitor and capture other tigers moving outside forest zones.

In recent weeks, tigers have been sighted frequently in residential areas around Bandipur and Nagarahole tiger reserves, resulting in repeated attacks on both people and cattle. Following these incidents, authorities issued orders to identify and capture such tigers to prevent further conflict.
