Streaming giants Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are currently in advanced deliberations with KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations to secure the digital streaming rights for Toxic, the much-anticipated film starring Yash. The film is slated for a theatrical release in June 2026.
Sources close to KVN Productions told blrpost.com that executives from both platforms are actively negotiating with the production houses. “Netflix and Prime Video executives are in discussions to acquire the streaming rights. Initial negotiations have placed the deal value between ₹300 crore and ₹350 crore. However, the producers are yet to take a final call on both the platform and the pricing,” a source said.
The film has already generated significant buzz following the release of its multilingual teaser. Within 24 hours, the teaser amassed over 200 million views and 5.5 million likes, underlining the massive popularity of Yash, who rose to pan-India fame after the success of KGF. Industry observers note that such numbers have strengthened the producers’ bargaining power in ongoing negotiations.
Sources further indicate that the valuation of the streaming rights could increase in the coming weeks, particularly after the official trailer is released. The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas. While the teaser attracted record-breaking viewership, it also drew criticism from certain quarters for featuring a bold and sensuous sequence.
Based on early visuals, Toxic is being perceived as a Hollywood-inspired project, crafted to appeal to a global audience. Initially scheduled for release on March 19, 2026, the film has now been postponed to June 4, 2026. While the delay was officially attributed to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, sources suggest it may also have been a strategic move to avoid a box-office clash with Dhurandar 2.
