DNA profiling of human remains recovered during the investigation into the Dharmasthala mass burial case has established matches with blood samples of family members in three cases, according to a forensic report cited in the SIT report.
The blrpost.com has seen multiple pages of the report and is publishing a page that talks about DNA profiling. It should be noted that SIT recovered 7 skulls and 31 bones from Banglegudde hillock on September 17 and 18, 2025. The Bengaluru FSL gave the report to the SIT on June 23, 2026.

The autosomal DNA profile of a set of bones recovered from the sites was found to be matching with the blood sample of Shrinivasa, son of Krishnappa, submitted as item No. 42, the report states. The same DNA profile was found across a large number of bone samples listed in the forensic report.
The DNA profiles of bones marked as item Nos. 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, 7e, 7f, 7g, 7h, 7i(1), 7i(2), 7i(4), 7i(5), 7j(1), 7j(2), 7j(3), 8a to 8h(2), and 9a(1) to 9e, besides items 10 to 14c, were found to be identical and matching with one another.
The report further states that the DNA profile of these bones matched that of the blood sample provided by Shrinivasa.
A second DNA match was recorded between bone sample item No. 8b and the blood sample of Padma, wife of late Gangadhara, submitted as item No. 41.
In a third case, the DNA profiles of bones marked 29a, 29b and 29c were found to match the DNA profile of the blood sample of Uluvangada Jeevan, son of late U.B. Ayyappa, submitted as item No. 40.
The forensic findings also record that several of the recovered bones were of human origin and male sex. Human male DNA was identified in bones submitted under a long list of item numbers, including samples from items 1, 2, 5, 6, 7a-7j, 8a-8h, 9a-9e, 10-14, 17a and 17b, 26a, 29b and 29c, 32b, 33, 34a-34e, 36a-36d, 37a, 37b, 38a and 38b.
The report separately states that the DNA profiles of bones marked 26a and 33 were identical and matched each other. It also records identical DNA profiles among bones marked 34a, 34b, 34c, 34d, 36a, 36b, 36c, 36d, 37a, 37b, 38a and 38b.
